Hi Folks
I have a Sunlight Cliff 2018 campervan Ducato PVC
I wanted to open the van today via central locking/electronic key fob but it won’t function. Changed the lithium battery for an identical one but still no go.
Q: Is the immobiliser armed without it being set by the central locking key?
Any advice gratefully received!
Thanks
Graham

Normally the imobiliser has nothing to do with the vehicle being locked or unlocked it works via the chip in the ignition key do you mean the alarm?

I think the alarm will set if lock the van using the key this might be a silly question but gave you started the van since the key fob packed up because the main reason a key fob stops working is a flat vehicle battery

Obviously a transponder or receiver issue im guessing it will need a diagnostic plug in

Does the central locking work from the button on the dash? If yes, it sounds like a fob/transponder fault. If no, sounds like a fuse/ecu fault.

Have you tried using the remote when the van is parked somewhere different. Some areas are bad for certain signals.
