so, insurance due soon, rang safe guard re renewal cost at 499.00  year older, no accidents or claims, van one yr older etc, why has price gone up by 97 quid?, well thats the price they say, have i had any other quotes they ask, yes i have, but lets see what you can do...................nada, thats our best....etc

phoned comfort ..... over £100 cheaper, but no breakdown, thats 60 odd quid more..........

so do i ring back safeguard and see if they will beat it, or can anyone else recommend a sensibly priced insurer?......................or at least one who will kiss me and maybe flowers before they have my pants down.......

Adrian Flux, second years insurance policy a bit cheaper than last year.

I have found C&MC to be competitive. We have a a Nationwide Flex account which covers the MH and car for breakdown cover - had to us them twice on the car and been very good.

Loads of information on this site re. the account.

By my calculations that’s £40 cheeper then your existing insurance...?

Sorry I meant your new quote..

Renewed with Comfort today. Complained at the outrageous price increase and he just laughed at me. It was £4........ Glad they have a sense of humour Total £397 including breakdown cover for a big Le Voyageur .

In 3 years with Comfort, mine has only gone up due to the increase in the tax rate. I feel no need to try shopping round in these circumstances.

Insurace Premium Tax (IPT) went up during the last 12 months as well
My Comfort policy went up just a few quid so I renewed...no breakdown cover needed though

lol looks like my lot dont love me anymore.............:cry::cry::rolleyes:

My Comfort renewal was a few quid d cheaper for the second tjme running :p

We have just insured with Stavelyhead who were by far the cheapest for Alan. As part of the price you need to supply either proof of a caravan club membership or proof of here. PS @Jim can you look for a PM I've sent you :-)

Just renewed with SAGA gone down in price !
Car last year £149.58 this year £135.99.
Motorhome last year £258.08 this year £237.17 and they let me pay quarterly at no extra charge.

Caravan and motorhome club
They won't include breakdown cover and if you want it charge a fortune for it.

Been with Comfort for years premium only every goes up a few quid and sometimes goes down.

Had a car with Saga until one year premium went from £160 to £330.
Did have the house with then but sneeky barsteds use different underwriters and the cover changes each year. Found out I wasn't covered for what I thought I was and to get the same cover wanted double the price. Got a full refund for the 3 months since renewal.
House now with Co-op went down £60 last year.

In my opinion there IS a reason your insurance premium has gone up...

The reason is because insurance companies are money grabbing toe rags and only interested in making money for themselves and their share holders.

JJ

That’s just an opinion of course

Same here. Last renewal quote at Safeguard it increased £100 and no reduction possible. Now with AIB for £369 including UK and Euro breakdown.
