We are in portugul heading to lavos tomorrow
Any1 about ?

We are thinking about travelling there in January never been there in Motorhome , no almost nothing about country , any advice please, such as places of interest, the route you travelled , can you pay for tolls at toll booths or do you have to register and open account ?

Hi.
If your North bound and early at Lavos,Praia de Mira is a bit further up. Municipal site will be open and if you want to free camp, just on the back of this site you can park up in the Dunes and its just a short stroll up to Cafe Bars etc. I know its a bit early, but over the winter you can park up on the front and just amble across to these. This and Figuiera da Foz are our nearest sea sides. Fig da Foz has an Aire, but if you arrive early and leave late, you run into a Car park charge for that day. Enjoy.

As to the toll question, i called into a post office (agència dos Correios ) and bought a card which you scratch off the number, you can apply the number on line or telephone , it was £20 aprox ?
Which will cover all the tolls around portugul as it was explained to me
We have camper contact so use quite a few of the free aires
So far we have
Haven a beautiful little village with the aire next to the harbour and a very nice beach
A local bakery with fresh bread

Arcade is another harbour and a very nice beach walk with a big town and a very good supermarket all reached within 5/10 mins walk

Today we are in villa nova cerveira it has an old cobbled town with a beautiful church
Also near the aire is a sea inlet which is a nice walk around

We are goin to lavos tomorrow
The aire is just next to a little village with nothing much around but its great for a chill out next to the beach
It has a bakery and a tiny shop that sells most things

We have a little dog so the beach n harbours suit us
Happy travels

Kim and I have the ferry booked to Caen on 30th. This month. Then heading - slowly - to Portugal. So excited and counting the days off. We will be home just before Brexit with our little dog.
