On this long duration crossing, what do you do about your fridge/freezer contents. Assuming you comply with the rules and switch it off, surely the contents spoil?

Living the dream.
We didn't switch it off, left it on Gas as we weren't told to turn it off and nobody checked.

Edit: we were out on the open deck anyway.

Endlessly discussed on here. It's no problem if you get everything nice and cold to begin with. A bottle of frozen milk or a frozen stew helps as well. Don't run it on gas, that is very naughty and is unnecessary.

16 years since restarting
5 litre water bottles frozen in the home freezer & stick in fridge.
By frozen I mean having been left in the freezer for some weeks.

As @DBK stated endlessly discussed on the forum but when we returned on Pont Avon on November 22 this year I asked the loading crew about leaving the gas on and they were not in the least bit concerned. Indeed they cracked a joke about having a cold beer!

We cool/freeze everything down before populating the fridge and the food in the feeder is still rock hard after Portsmouth-Santander 24 hour crossing whilst gas/electricity switched off.

PS Hot here in Totana!

Same here. We switch on the freezer a couple of days before we intend leaving and the last stuff in, is the freezer stuff. I do a cook in and make the usual casseroles and pasta sauces etc. Couple of quality steak pies and uncooked beef in steaks (2 pair of nice rib eye) and ground beef etc. All the stuff we can't get in Spain easy. Freezer unit is stuffed solid and it aint small either Never had any defrosting issues on any of the ferries... So far! LOL
