Hi everyone,
I have a question regarding Popit Mobile. Does any one know whether the Popit Mobile Sim Card needs to be activated in the UK, prior to travelling in the EU, or can it be activated, once over there?

Needs to be activated in the UK.

Need to know someone who has tried it, planning to use one for our next trip.

Why not just activate in the UK just before you leave, what's the problem in doing that?

If going for 6½ weeks with the data on our phones I could get away with one Month saving 25 quid.

Why not just use the data on your phones for the last 2½ weeks of your trip and put the Popit sim on the £1 sleep mode at the end of the first 4 weeks?
But of course, irrelevant if Popit confirms that you can activate while in the EU.
Best get confirmation either direct from Popit or someone who has definitely activated while in the EU rather than "my mate said", and then find otherwise when you try in the EU.

FYI - I have just ordered a Popit SIM card but first I had an on-line conversation with one of their live chat guys. One of the questions I asked was whether the SIM had to be activated in the UK prior to usage abroad - his answer was no - it can be activated anywhere within the regions covered, but must have a minimum of 14 days usage within the UK either prior to, in-between or after returning from roaming abroad. .
