Hi all
we are heading for Spain via Poole and Cherbourg and I was wondering if you can still stay overnight on the Port ? and if are there any restrictions regarding arrival times.

Our plan is - down through France via La Rochelle and then probably a night at Vieux-Boucau-les-Bains aire before heading towards Burgos then south around Madrid towards Salamanca and then to Cordoba. then to Malaga area for some beach time before heading for Cadiz then into Portugal and a slow plod north via Lisbon and Porto before heading back along the northern Spanish coast.

hopefully about 5 or 6 weeks

just looking forward to shorts and flipflops throughout February !!!!

I should have said overnight in the port at Poole.

No problem parking in the port of Poole. Alternatively we get lots of motorhomes parking in the next street to us with sea views and park views.

You can park at Poole ferry port. We normally do on the Way back because the ship docks at about 10pm so we just drive off and round into the arrivals area over by the big shed and stay the night there. I think there is a charge but I have never found the guy to pay. He runs the small cafe there. (y)

No problem at all, done it loads of times, you park in the marked area alongside the building. I thought we pay a Fiver but can't remember

never found the guy to pay either, there are toilets, a shower (one) and a cassette empty point. Used on departure and return, some people also use the lanes to overnight but you get an earlier morning call.
