Hi - this main thread was when the Meet was launched on the open forum to all Funsters, the first group chat was for those interested in booking & agree that was a little complicated but hopefully everyone got sorted with pitch of choice at the Fun discounted rate - that's inactive now. There is now a new private group chat for the duration of the Meet so we can all keep in touch as we are spread around the Touring Park so difficult otherwise - there's good free WiFi. Everyone has to park in the arrivals field & walk to register with Reception apart from Blue Badge holders for whom there is limited parking nearer to Reception. Please see post #129 above forLooking forward to meeting you all, but a little confused reading through all the threads (this is all new to us)!Do we not go to Reception and then to our Pitch or do we have to come to arrivals field first? Also reading the threads the meet up places seem to keep changing - can you tell me where and when we will be meeting? Thanks

planned gatherings - the venue has always been the Stable Bar but we will be in the attached Restaurant area for all of these as it allows dogs which I know some will want to bring along. The time is all that as changed on Monday & it is now in the afternoon as the space has been hired for a private function in the evening so no longer available. Hope that helps & we look forward to meeting you.

On our way
Have stayed in St Ives many times & had all seasons in one day but still love it - just need to wear layers! Do feel lucky to have so much sunshine though.Welcome to Cornwall, I’ve laid on a bit of sunshine for you all but don’t be fooled it could change at any time.
Have a great time….️

Sounds greatPorthminster beach - a short walk from the town - ideal for walking along & quieter than the rest today but no dogs

Very lucky, after a period of wet and indies. We decided that rather than tearing around the countryside, we'd just sit outside and enjoy the sun. Not that we tear around these days anywayHave stayed in St Ives many times & had all seasons in one day but still love it - just need to wear layers! Do feel lucky to have so much sunshine though.

could be interested just up the road have to clear it with upper management first though i'm only the bottle washer lolInterested
That's good to hear - as kindly mentioned above by Clivefog this is the new thread for this year's Meet https://www.motorhomefun.co.uk/foru...pitch-with-discount-code.327718/#post-6839831could be interested just up the road have to clear it with upper management first though i'm only the bottle washer lol
We can't wait to stay at Polmanter Touring Park https://www.polmanter.com/ this September & would love to have some fellow Funsters join us too! It'll be our first time staying there but it's award winning, has great facilities & excellent reviews so coupled with being within walking distance of fabulous St Ives we think it should be great.
The Park have kindly agreed to a £5 per night reduction on their normal rates as well as no extra charges for bringing along up to 2 dogs (saving an additional £27.50-£38.50 or more) for this Meet - this applies to 5, 6 or 7 night stays with starting date Monday 22 September making rates £26.50 per night for Electric Grass, £29 per night for Electric Hardstanding or Grass Multi-serviced, or £32.50 per night for Hard-standing Multi-serviced pitches after discount. No extra charges either for a tow car or attached awning but Quest Screenhouses or similar are not to be used.
UPDATE 30/3 - whilst the core meet dates are as above the discount code will also apply to a couple of days either side when booking online so long as 5 nights or more are booked plus for an extended stay it should be possible to arrange this by phone at the same discounted rate which should help those coming from other events. Booking will open as soon as the discount code is set up with everyone being able to choose the type & location of their pitch. There's an excellent tool here https://www.makeamap.co/map/54f4c01880110ec870407bad/home so you can see each pitch & the outlook by clicking on the pitches.
There should be the opportunity for us to gather in the daytime (when no food or drink is served) in the Stable Bar & to have a reserved area in the Bar for drinks together in the evenings if wanted - of course as always there is no obligation to join in.
Whilst some may wish to relax on the Park or explore by car, it's a 30 minute 1.5 mile pleasant downhill walk into St Ives via a footpath at the back of the Park (to Steeple Lane) with the option of a taxi back (or weekday bus shuttle see below) if walking back up doesn't appeal at the end of the day. Once down in the town of St Ives there are lots of places to visit including the Tate Art Gallery (many free entry galleries too), Barbara Hepworth's Museum & Sculpture Garden in her former home, Leach Pottery, St Ives Museum, pleasant shopping in the historic cobbled streets with lots of tempting food & drink establishments, walk on the 7 beaches or just enjoy a coffee sat looking over the harbour or sea. We've explored St Ives many times & even in the depths of winter it has been enjoyable so hoping it's even better in September.
UPDATE: Just found there's a town Festival too https://www.stivesseptemberfestival.co.uk/
There are regular buses from the Malakoff https://www.google.com/maps/place/Malakoff+bus+station/@50.211025,-5.4813349,17z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m6!3m5!1s0x486add5c85a4046d:0x78842a32e6656582!8m2!3d50.211025!4d-5.47876!16s/g/11rsptfs4_?entry=ttu&g_ep=EgoyMDI1MDMyNC4wIKXMDSoASAFQAw== & a good train service just below there for scenic journeys to explore further afield to nearby Carbis Bay beach (walkable too), Penzance, Truro & a favourite of ours (bit more of a journey) Falmouth including Pendennis Castle (EH) & the Maritime Museum.
** UPDATE - schedule for the private shuttle bus service from the Park to St Ives town https://royalbuses.co.uk/bus-timetables-st-ives/bus-service-st-ives-to-polmanter-camp-site/ shows there will be a limited chargeable service for the Monday-Friday of the Meet dates - this should enable more to join us all*** Prices are £2.50 single, £4.70 return per adult.
If you may wish to book at the Fun discounted rates for this Meet then please post here as "Interested" with the type of pitch you'd like & for how many nights then I'll PM with how to book.
When viewing the video please note that at this off peak time of year the pool is not open but the Stable Bar will be open most nights serving a full food/drink menu - it is one of the best times of the year to visit St Ives without all the crowds.

Hi - this is last year's Meet thread - this year's is here https://www.motorhomefun.co.uk/foru...y-a-few-hardstanding-ehu-pitches-left.327718/I am interested in a grass pitch for 5 nights, but I am somewhat confused by the start dates which states start date Mon 22nd Sept., when actually the 22nd Sept. is on a Tuesday……???
