Presently visiting my wife’s family and staying at her sons fledgling stables, sounds grand but basically a rented field on outskirts of a housing estate in the midlands with freshwater and toilet disposal. Has me wondering about security, once all the blinds are shut anyone could approach without our knowledge. Thinking along the lines of a couple of battery powered PIR sensors stuck onto Inside of windows by access doors (a class) coupled to an audible alarm just to warn of anyone approaching just for peace of mind for both this location and when wilding. Anyone gone this route and have suggestions ?

Why not invest in a proven visual deterrent such as the flashing external LED’s you get with a Growler alarm?

Already fitted those Robert but would like an audible warning for anyone prowling about

Rather than an audible alarm just fit a pir floodlight. It won't wake you up but will deter anyone nearby from approaching closer. It may go off with animals around. I don't think you are going to sleep very well anyway so the slightest sound will get you up. If you are not happy with your surroundings, it's best not to stay there.

I got 3 PIR's fitted (sides covering doors & Windows + rear) they are 12v & wired via remote control fob to inside buzzer & option to sound the #bloody loud# external siren, angled so sounds if anyone comes within 1 metre

Nice one any info re supplier etc

I use these as outdoor notifications or alarms. They are wireless and can control lights alarms, as well as the a beep notification from the receiver. One attached to each wing mirror will protect both sides of the motorhome. They are mounted on a ball socket so angle can be adjusted to give a narrow coverage down the sides. You would just need to work out an attachment to the mirrors.

There going to love you on a french Aire ....🤣

Aldi where knocking out Solar PIR floodlights a while back. one set up each side of the van would be a deterrent as well as an indicator?. They where about 10quid each. I fastened one to a piece of 38mm Drain pipe, and it mounts on the top of my Windbreak pole, Was useful coming back from the pub in the dark too. (y)
