Our dealer fitted a Pioneer hi-level brake light reversing camera (CAM FT2) to our new PVC. About a third of the image in the monitor seems to be of the back doors of the van. It also looks as if the view is squinty. I'm attaching a photo. Is that how the image should look or has the camera not been positioned properly?

I'm not very impressed by this camera. It's not any better than the one in our previous van, which was 15 years old. Apart from the above, the image was hard to see when it was raining as water seemed to sit on the lens, obscuring the view. I'm wondering whether to replace this camera with another make. Any comments?

Thanks.

May be set a little bit low, I set my camera so I just get the top of the bumper at the bottom of the image.
Why don't you try adjusting it.

I didn't know you could adjust it. How do you do that?

I have one of these, bought from ebay:

The camera is not as wide-angle as in your picture - I can't see the back doors, but I also can't see as far behind.
I prefer the angle of view in yours, including the doors.

If you can get a piece of black plastic and glue it on the top of the camera as a shade, that should reduce the rain issue, and the camera does appear to be wonky so adjust accordingly. I dont think it warrants spending on a new camera.

That model is from Connects2, not Pioneer. Here is the website:

Thanks, having looked, it adjusts like a golfball spotlight you can just move the camera ball around, a lot of the small cameras are like that.

Ahah! We've just found a small piece of wire attached to the camera leaflet, buried in the pile of documentation which came with the van. I guess that is a tool to adjust the angle. We just need to work out how to use it now.
