Sorry if this is in the wrong area but I wasn't quite sure where to put it?

Is anybody aware of a hack/scam affecting mobile phones at the moment?
I have an old Nokia c1-01. It's a venerable old brick and I love it so stop laughing!:)
Up until dinner time yesterday, all was fine. Then all of a sudden, I have what appears to be a set of black lips across the screen! I'm not aware I've damaged it and not totally convinced that the screen is cracked/damaged as usually when that happens, if you gently press the screen, all hell breaks loose with multi-colours......it doesn't do that.
I've had the battery out all night but it's still the same.
Going into the Vodafone shop this afternoon.

Any ideas chaps?

Sounds like a damaged liquid crystal screen. A pic would be helpful.
Edit: Just reread post, sounds like you know what a damaged screen looks like! So probably not. A pic would still help though!

Turns out it WAS a broken screen. B*gger! How that happened I've no idea. Still, at least it wasn't anything more sinister.
Good new? Replaced it with a Nokia 108 for £22. Result! Didn't think you could buy a bog standard phone anymore.
Bad news? No bluetooth for my Nav. Ah well, rarely used that function anyway.
