So hypothetical question time. So next summer, everything is back to normal, we are all vaccinated and there are no brexit issues. What’s your big trip of 2021 going to be?

Not got a van anymore but my dream trip is a quick transition through France next summer and then a nice villa in Costa Brava right next to the beach for a week or three. :xThumb:

I sold my van pre lock down due to extension and health at the time. Desperate to buy one now but I see all makes and models with all problems and now with the puppy who is a lovable dick I am worried about him in the van! Going to try to get to the South of France next year take the dogs and some books, switch my phone of and not check emails!
Also need someone to slap me quickly as I have been toying with the idea of a 5th Wheeler!

Just goes to show -- I couldn't think of any thing worse.
Sitting on a beach is absolute torture to us - so boring.:Eeek:
Its all about the journey for us now and no rushing any where :cooler:.
We rise late and after a casual breakfast - we try and set off before noon.
Driving stopping and looking around a village, driving stopping for a lazy lunch, driving stopping for the night and a nice evening meal. :drinks:
Repeat daily and it doesn't matter where - in UK or Europe.
Perfect -- :clap2:All that's good about motorhome life on the road.

But to answer your question -- Normandy, Brittany and down the west coast of France for a month.:france:

You need a big slap, silly boy.

Outer Hebrides, Skye, Mull then Shetland Isles and the Orkneys, oh, and St Kilda but not in the van 😜 can’t you tell we don’t like too much sun. This would be our dream extended tour.
iIf possible I would start this in late April and spend 4 to 5 months on the road if COVID is sorted.

In our tugging days we promised the kids a beach holiday as they kept nagging us. In the two weeks we spent about 8 hours total on the beach.
Well we do live 200 yds from the beach.

IF we get away in summer then Germany. I think October holiday more likely in which case south of France.
If we can, we’ll do both 😉
I don't recommended Germany in October as that's what we did this year, weather was sh*t.

Did South West France in February this year not hot but low 20's OK for Feb.
For a proper holiday it's got to be in the 30's.

Had a Vietnam 17 day tour cancelled at beginning of March just as all this kicked off...
Have a trip booked to West Canada, the Rocky Mountaineer and an Alaskan cruise booked for May/Jun next year...
...but I can't see that happening either.
Don't think a sufficient proportion of the population will be vaccinated by then.

So I'd love to do either/both next year

You like rain then?
Smashing country love it but I can live without the weather.

We had a short motorbike tour to Island a few years ago and it never stopped raining - THE worst weather for a motor bike tour. It was so bad they even called the race meeting off.
I got talking to a local in the pub and after he'd listened to mi moaning about the Irish weather ---- said ---- 'Ay but it'll be grand place when we put a roof on it'

We managed two weeks there in the van without rain, even the locals were in shock.
Been there loads of times working so I know that was not normal.

5th wheelers are great value for money. If you know where you are going and are prepared for a bit of faffing around they make a sensible alternative and you get a truck to run about with, saw one last year with a cupboard in the chassis drop containing a washing machine and tumble drier.

I don’t like sitting on the beach either. I just like being close to the sea.

That is something I identify with ... last year we stayed on the edge of a cliff in South of France ... squeezed into a tiny pitch to get right next to the sea ... nothing like it. As soon as this dreadful virus is subdued we’ll be back.

Cornish Farm to your house to say bye, to Plymouth. Ferry to Roscoff the straight for the heat of the Med

Swim: Beer: Cycle: BBQ: Repeat

We are provisionally booked to tour Croatia end of August / September to replace our Balkans tour that was cancelled this year.

Not in the motorhome but most of all we’d like to visit darling daughter in Bangladesh later in the year, also cancelled from this year, as it sounds like a wonderful place with lovely people. We were also supposed to pop over to Malaysia whilst we were there. Fingers crossed. To think she gave me my Lonely planet guide book for Christmas last year with a Bengal tiger on the front!
