Went to Harlech whilst in N. Wales last week to visit the castle. A bit of googling suggested the best place for motorhome parking was the beach car park. This turned out to be a fair way from the town, remote and completely empty when we arrived, suggesting an ideal target for theft had we left the van there all day.

On our way down the road to the beach car park however, we noticed a handwritten sign saying £2 all day parking at the leisure centre. Very warm welcome at reception and we parked directly opposite the sports centre entrance with a path leaving the car park across the railway line to the A496 directly below the castle.

The entrance to the leisure centre is off the same road, Ffordd Glan Mor, that leads down to the beach car park, on the left just past the supermarket on the corner of the junction with the A496.

Of course, if you're intending to go to the beach, then the beach car park is closer, but for the castle and town itself the leisure centre is ideal and not expensive. There is no expectation that you should use the leisure centre facilities, they are just offering use of the fairly large and otherwise underused car park.
