We find the best road from Bristol to Bridport is M5 to Taunton and then aA358 over to the A35. Going cross country is a nightmare.
So, in Taunton, you will go right past Van Bitz, Cornish Farm site.

Bristol to Bridport isn’t that far. If it might suit you to be in Bridport for the next morning, I’d recommend Ernie’s Plot - great little site just on the western outskirts and walkable into Bridport.

We may not get to the area until after 9 and will have a car in convoy with us !.

I think we may be too late for cornish farm.

Bristol to Bridport isn’t that far. If it might suit you to be in Bridport for the next morning, I’d recommend Ernie’s Plot - great little site just on the western outskirts and walkable into Bridport.

Burton Bradstock is only a stone throw from Bridport, you could try here Graston Park nice site and walking distance to village, pubs & sea.

Lakeside no overnight on the esplanade but lakeside road runs onto it always a few vans there at least one looks long term

If you’re thinking about that area you could try Clevedon Golf Centre, but it’s a CAMC CL - only 5 mins easy access from M5 J20.

M5 no chance of meeting the LEZ zone and charges
The time your travelling should be OK

Currently in the middle of Thetford Forest and not much signal, it is difficult to see the junctions on your photos above. The road over from Taunton to Honiton past Corfe (look for sign to Corfe when in Taunton) , we use often and is OK although a B road. Then once in Honiton, take A35.
The alternative is A358 from Taunton to ilminster, Chard, Axminster to A35. I think we used this last time to Highlands End.
Google maps for me suggesting all sorts of B roads and I think your blue line in photos 1 and 3 are on the slow B road towards the end?

Its going to be quire late so.....

Alternative is the motorway services. Son-in-law following in a car. I just begrudge the charges.

If you go the Ilminster, Chard route (turn to Chard just before you get to Ilminster) Park4Night has a nice layby sheltered from the road
