I placed an order with Outdoor Bits over a week ago. They took my money and the order is showing in my account on their website but I've heard nothing from them. I sent an email 4 days ago which has not had a reply. Phone not answered. Tried their chat system but at 11.30am it says it is not manned and I should try again during opening hours.

What is going on. Have they ceased trading?

Oh dear. I have ordered from them before and had no problems. Fortunately it wasn't anything mega expensive so I'll wait and see

Some of the warnings/reviews there say they are closing! Don't know if that is true, but something is wrong.
It's interesting that the reviews are so polarised. 1 star ones reflect my experience. 5 star ones all seem to have similar wording and effusive praise without specifics

“Many Apologies but due to staff shortages our order lines are only partially manned Please use either our live chat if any operators are available or email us using our Contact Us Page where we endeavour to respond asap Apologies for any inconvenience caused”
 
Placed a small order with them late May debited my card immediately after a week tried contacting them, phone straight to voicemail which was always full so unable to leave a message, emails not answered after 3 weeks I managed to complain through their website stating I was going to put it in hands of my credit card provider to reclaim the money. That did get a reply stating their service left a lot to be desired as they were short staffed. Eventually received my order after 31 days. Abysmal service pity I hadn’t read the very negative reviews before placing it.

I saw that - which is why I used the Contact Us page which was no help at all

I have recently had same issues with a company called Interspares..
 
Would you believe it? After 3 weeks of ignoring all my attempts to contact them, my parcel finally arrived today. What a way to run a company!
 
I ordered from them recently, it seems to me they keep virtually zero stock, as they take your money and then order from a distributor, that's why it takes so long for parts to arrive.

I knew that and I don't have any problem with that business model. What I do have a problem with is their total refusal to respond to communications

It took almost 8 days for me to get a reply from them, they finally replied once they had a confirmed delivery date from the distributor.
