Motorhomer since 2019. Previously 10+ years caravanner.
It's Sunday night and we are sitting in our brand new Mileo 264 at Grafham Water Caravan Park, which closes tomorrow until reopening again in March 2020.

We collected our new MH from Marquis Northanpton on Thursday 31 October and have spent the last few days getting to know it.

Mark Petty was our salesman and Michael did the handover. Mark (& Ron) were very helpful and informative with nothing being too much trouble.

Fair to say that we are delighted with our purchase.

One pleasant surprise has been the table!!! After reading several posts here about how others have replaced the original because it was, it seems, universally disliked, we were expecting it to be difficult to live with. Well, for us it works well and we are enjoying it's flexibility.

The only issue has been that the heating didn't work the first morning. After a couple of helpful phone calls and a return to Marquis, it was discovered that our Gaslow cylinders had not been filled with Gas!
It was an error but they were very apologetic, filled them up for us and on our way we went.

We had previously had Alde heating in our caravans and found the Truma controller took some time to get to know. But now we have been using it for a couple of days we now understand how to set it up and even wake in the morning warm and snug with the heating programmed to come on at 6am.

So we have made a great start to our MHoming adventure and are looking forward to many years of enjoyment.

Many thanks to Mark, Ron and Michael and all the others at Marquis Northampton for making our dream become a reality. (We also posted this on FB). KRs Frank

Wishing you lots of happy miles and smiles on your journeys :)

Well done and good luck, we picked our new one up last Wednesday, still finding my way around, I pop in it now and again on the drive to explore :)

If you want an easy upgrade to your headlights and indicators check the thread I did about them a couple of days ago, they take you from the yellowish to white to match the daylight running lights, much safer for driving at night, and a 10min fit for both (y)

Really pleased you are enjoying your new van but I'd say pretty unforgiveable of Marquis to have missed filling up your gas and does rather question their preparation and handover process when everything should be checked and then demonstrated.

Enjoy your travels!

I have to say, as someone who is acutely aware of my own capability to make mistakes, I don't consider it 'unforgivable'. I always judge not on whether there are mistakes (which is just plain human) but what the response is like when there are mistakes.
In this regard Marquis Northampton were exemplary.

Stick a SIM card in the inet box, it’s brilliant to be able to then turn in water/heating at your leisure from your mobile. Off out for a night and retiring to van earlier than expected, just sent it a message from your phone to turn heating on. I love the function, even notifies you if you run out of gas.

You will get used to some of the people on here, I am very new here, not all of us are negative at just about everything ;)

One thing I would say, I just polished mine with this stuff today, would have cost £799 at the dealers, I bought 2 x bottles but still have loads left in the first and I am 8.1mtrs long! When the vehicle is new it is SO easy to apply, I had my wife on the roof today and she was moving about like a seal it was so slippy, we have insurance so not an issue :D Here are a couple of pics of ours after the polish, we put on two coats, some prefer one but more the merrier for me and its so easy (y)

For interior blinds pull side ones from the bottom, I didn‘t like them either for the same reason so bought a Silverscreen, had it on my previous van for 9yrs and brilliant, save £40 and get it from here, read my posts https://www.motorhomefun.co.uk/foru...l-screen-recommendations.207051/#post-3556063

For draining board I got this as it protects the glass cooker top Amazon product ASIN B01JOVU3HA
Front mud flaps I got from here 5 mins to fit http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/710-5...0001&campid=5338547443&icep_item=370303289009

For the steering lock bar, make sure you get one that goes over the air bag, they have a bigger curve ?

Good luck, seems like you are doing the right thing and tweeting to fit your needs.

If they did not fill the Gas Cylinders it begs the question how they tested for leaks:rolleyes:

They explained that they loaded sufficient to do their testing from a portable cylinder.
What they didn’t do was go to an LPG garage to fill the GasLow cylinders.
Don’t worry. Have faith. Be happy. They know what they’re doing. F
