We have an Omnistor 5500 which is looking well past it’s best. I think it was fitted from new on our Burstner elegance i681. I would like to replace it with a Thule Omnistor 5200 and am wondering if I could use the original mounting plates from the 5500 rather than replacing everything. Does anyone have any idea whether this is even a sensible idea?

Is the difference the proposed one is shorter? If so they might stick out at one end

I have used John Rose from Rose Awnings in Poole for sales / fitting and advice

amazing knowledge and customer support 👍

Thanks David, no I don't think so. They are both 4m. I could call Rose Awnings for advice.

I have just used these to purchase a motor kit for our 9200 Thule awning and Kevin the owner has loads of knowledge with awnings and they are cheap.

Thanks for the help, looks like I'll be best getting a professional fit rather than doing myself...
