Does anyone happen to know whether someone who uses Apple devices can open OpenOffice documents and read and copy them and whether OpenOffice can open, read and copy Apple device produced pdfs emailed to them? (the Apple user could not deal with Libre Office docs)

Sarah says [she is the IT person ] with Apple you can open a Microsoft word doc in pages and you can share it back as a word doc. It will copy it into pages and you can save and re copy as word or PDF. Apple reads PDF using preview. I have typed what she said I dont understand it tho xxx hope it is helpful...

sedge you can use OpenOffice on an Apple Mac so yes, they can open an OpenOffice document if they imstall OpenOffice. As Kirsten says, they can open a .pdf file using Preview or download the Adobe Acrobat Reader to view the file.

I use Open Office on my MacBook and hav frequently opened Word documents and Excel spreadsheets. Open Office does not recognise Excel Macros in any spread sheet, and sometimes will substitute a font or some format from Word, but hey, it's free and for that I'll put up with it! I've also never had any problem with PDF files.
