Having applied for to retain my. C1 entitlement for the second time after a bit of faffing about as I put the wrong date when declaring a previously passed ok medical incident. The DVLA wrote to me informing me that they were writing to my GP for clarification. I took a letter into my GP giving them permission to disclose any info they wanteD. I phone the surgery on the 15th Dec 2021 to be told that the letter was with the doctor for signing. Chased the DVLA up yesterday having finally got through to be told they had not received a reply form my Doctor. The very helpful lady went on to explain the have a specific email address for medical info to speed the process up but have been to by many in my position that they are often waiting some time to hear back from doctors. I then phoned my surgery listened to endless sorry we know you are waiting to get through after 35 mins. Very helpful receptionist looked into it for me to be told it had not been signed yet and the doctor was away for two weeks and not back till next Tuesday. Whilst I appreciate someone who is unwell should take precedence over me as we cant get either an appointment either by phone or in person what is going on.
