Currently at Cite Europe for the train in the morning . All hell has broken loose with hundreds and hundreds of trucks stuck on roads trying to get into EuroTunnel. They are all sounding their horns in protest so no quiet night here. Hopefully we'll get in ok tomorrow but i feel sorry for the truckers. EuroTunnel web site states all is running on time but something isn't right.
Those funsters heading this way just be aware.
Cheers Nik

We managed to get in to the tunnel area by the pet center using the gate on the road behind Lidl. At 7am Tuesday morning the gate was closed but as we arrived 2 cars were coming out and the gate rolled open. We did notice that vans were obviously parked up overnight on the pet center car park, not a bad plan if you do not need to use the Cite Europe complex.
Cheers

We stayed at cite Europe on Saturday after coming through the tunnel. No problem at all. It's just bad luck if you happen to coincide with the customs industrial action.

We passed hundreds of trucks on the A16 this morning on our way to the tunnel. No trouble spotted though.

We went through yesterday afternoon, it seemed almost deserted. No problems at all. Luck of the draw!

We stopped in the 'overnight' pet check-in car park in January, but should have stopped in the 'daytime' car park instead - the last paragraph of this explains why:

Famous last words but seems OK this morning so far will report further when we get to customs and entry.

We left on Thursday morning at 6.30 am leaving plenty of time for our 8.20 tunnel crossing We were parked with loads of Motorhomes at City de Europe We got as far as the slip road for the A16 and that was it No movement lorries and cars also Motorhomes all stuck
The lane on the motorway was not moving or very slowly a lorry at a time
Once we got on the A16 we mangaged to get to the tunnel It was 8 am we had missed our slot and had to wait till 9.50 am
Wished we had known if there is a better way to get there

Apart from a wait to get through French Customs all was OK this morning. Aproach roads were clear even got an earlier slot.
Hope it's the same when you travel through.
Cheers Nik.

We parked up at the pet reception yesterday, and then went through Border control at 20.00hrs last night, wherupon we heard the truckers protesting by sounding their horns. We stayed over in the holding area waiting for our letter to come up for the 08,20 crossing.

Now at Canterbury P&R. :)

Cheers,

Jock. :)

Driving from the North and having to use the M25 and roads after - Dover and Folkestone are my very last choice to cross to France although I understand pet owners using the tunnel, Newhaven, Portsmouth, Poole, Plymouth(y)

Stay out of France folks.

It’s a Shit hole

I think someone was on the tracks so the trains all came to a standstill

Portsmouth Tuesday for us. Including dog ,took a chance on Brexit being delayed, no blood tests just standard pet passport.
Tip on Grand national for a charity contribution.
