No signal under electricity pylon? (1 Viewer)

Does pitching under an electricity pylon affect picking up Astra 2 satellite signal?
I’m in the UK but can’t get my Caro digital to find the satellite 28.2E.
There’s no other obstructions.

Depends what you call a pylon? Steel lattice or wood pole??

It’d be 11kv then and I’d say no, it wouldn’t affect your signal.
Are the 3 lines horizontal or vertical??

Definitely 11kv then. I had trouble with my Oyster last week, I did the latest update and now it’s fine.

Yeah, 11000volts will charge your battery in milliseconds.

It could also be 33000 volts, there will be an electrical field which may distort your signal.
Good suggestion talking to each other, who knows you may get lucky

So, I’ve moved on from the site and currently in a supermarket car park and whilst waiting for my wife to return to the van, I thought I’d have another go at trying to get TV via the sat dish.
After trying to search for Astra 2 without luck, I changed the satellite Astra 1.
I can now get German TV (2DF1 channel).
I’ve tried searching for some UK channels from there but still to no avail.
So I know that it’s working to a point that it’s picking up some channels but nothing on Astra 2.
Surely the whole of Taunton can’t have Astra 2 signal issues?
Im moving on to Padstow today so will faff with it then.
