In trying to book a service at Travelworld for after they move to Stafford I have been told that there will be no facilities for staying on the site (as there is at Telford).

I am told there is a commercial site five miles away.

Just to help if you are making advance plans.

Use Becks instead. Hook up on the forecourt, opposite a pub, free loan car, great staff, what's not to like?

How short sighted! Might say a lot about their attitude towards the customer .
I see a business opportunity for Old Mo, here :).

Last time I was talking to Ross he said that they were looking at it but had lost a lot of parking space because somebody found a "newt" pond or something similar and they had to provide a buffer zone between any business activity and said "newts"

As mentioned Old mo's CL (y)

Also there are a few pubs here in Cannock that allow overnight stays if you have a meal and not that far from Stafford.
Also the A34 just around the corner has lots of layby's.

Thanks Brian...
Black Down, down in Dorset we had a few visitors a month, and it was lovely to see so many friends, especially as we were off the beaten track.... as you know... :)

Thought it would be the same here..... should not complain really... but not many days go by when we have not got any one here...

Few weeks ago we had no bookings for the start of this month... but that soon changed... the last couple of weeks a constant flow in and out, some on their way down to catch the ferry`s and some going North bound home...

From last night we have a constant flow 2 - 3 - 4 unit`s, next weekend we are fully booked.. The weekend after 3 booked for 3 night`s... OH!!!!! Edgy (Ian) is on his way down now, of to Stafford Bike show.... (y)

And now got bookings for New years eve..

All this socialising is driving Judy to drink... (I`m Tea total..)

And I have got a yank tank to get sorted for next years show season..:clap2:

4 Rally`s and a provisional wedding reception already for next year...

All go this retirement lark..:rofl:

Have stayed on Travelworld existing compound a few times and TBH although dead convenient, we never slept well there..

The existing showroom and compound are in the middle of an industrial estate; the premises at the back of them seems to load lorries overnight so there is a continual beeping from fork lift trucks being manoevered.

Add to this the nearest pub/retstaurant is a good 15 minute walk away, it’s OK but being a Hungry Horse pub it makes Weatherspoons look up market.

Finally the compound is deep gravel so when the staff start arriving (7 am onwards) they can’t help but make a lot of noise as they park up.

So we tended to stay on a local site anyway, preferring to pay the £15 to £20 (can’t remember) and get a decent sleep instead.

I for one won’t really miss the inability to stay at their place.

Old Mo’s sounds ideal though (y)

Have you got the oil back in the gearbox yet ?

A friend of a friend came along on his day off.... jacked it up and could not see where it was coming from....

Not the rear oil seal as first thought... checked it over topped the gearbox up... and he did a leak on one of the power steering pipes...

Took it for a run and gave it a real thrashing and not a drop of oil on the garage floor..

Neither of us know`s why it dumped half the gearbox oil on the garage floor.. or where it came from..

Strange.. But happy it only cost me a drink... (y)

Mo , if your’e talking the auto box on the yank , it reminds me of a problem I had with an Audi 100 auto box that kept losing oil when hot, finally identified a blocked oil cooler and once cleaned out problem sorted.
