My friend has a Chausson Motorhome, it’s a 2021 build, C Class with Island bed.
He has got to site and hooked up but has no electric at the 230v sockets.
He has tried another lead and has the same problem.
He plugged his neighbours lead into the post and his works so no problem with the supply.

Is there a reset switch anywhere in the van?

There will be an RCD somewhere in the van that needs reset. The 240v circuit is the same as a house and there will be a fuse box somewhere close to where the power enters the van

Looking at a handover video ( don’t know if same van) there is an external locker where you fill with water, in the same locker is the main trip switch and fuses

Yes as others have said exactly the same as at home, outside socket straight to a 230v RCD breaker. If there are any 230v lights it might have two switches that need to be in the up position to be on, one lights one sockets.
Good luck to him👍

Do the sockets normally work OK on hookup? Have they suddenly stopped working or has he never tried them yet?

No idea if it is the same issue, but there may be some useful information in this thread.

Had the same problem, turned a separate unit for the inverter had tripped.

We don't know anything about the electrical setup except what you tell us. There should be a mains electrics distribution point, probably very near the incoming hookup mains inlet. It should have at least two devices like this.
RCD_MCB_pair.jpeg

The item on the left is an RCD. It has a test button and a switch. In the picture the switch is down, so it is OFF.

The item on the right is an MCB, with no test button. In the picture the switch is up, so it is ON. There are often more than one MCB, but usually only one RCD.

First test: Switch OFF the MCB (all of them if more than one). Plug in the EHU cable. Does the RCD stay ON if you switch it on, or does it immediately switch OFF again? If it stays on, fine. If it switches off, there is a problem in the wiring before it. If you have tested the EHU cable with neighbour's MH, then the problem is between the mains inlet and the RCD.

If it stays on, the next test is to press the TEST button. The RCD switch should turn OFF. If it does, fine. If not, then for some reason the mains power is not reaching the RCD, so there is a wiring problem between the mains inlet and the RCD.

If the RCD TEST button works OK, turn the RCD switch ON again. The next test is to turn ON the MCB (ON is UP). If the MCB switches OFF again, and/or the RCD switches OFF, then there's a problem with the wiring after the MCB. If more than one MCB, try each one in turn.

I had a similar problem - turned out to be a plug & socket under a seat locker that had become partially disconnected - must have caught it loading something in.

Incidentally it took an approved electrician at a reputable dealer 3 days to find it!

Wow, I hope they didn't charge you three days labour. The average van 240 system is about as sophisticated as a domestic garage or shed workshop.

No I didn't let them charge me although I don't think he'd even looked at it until I asked them about it! Never go back there!
