It's ASCI, 19 euros pn with your own immaculate separate toilet, washbasin and shower in separate unit you park alongside. Temperature when we arrive at 4.30, 20 deg. Beautiful fiery red sunset, bus stop opposite to town, 5 mins and 1 euro something right into town. Try it next time around.

Yes it's a good site, we stayed a few years ago on the way back from the Algarve to Santander. (y)

I would suggest if travelling North to go through the Monfrague National Park and pause at Salto de Gitano and watch the Griffon Vultures swarming about.

There is actually an ACSI site at Mon Frague as well and that’s not to bad either and you can also see Egyptian Vulture at the dam and Eagle Owls and Spanish Imperial Eagles a bit further down that road.?

I endorse that. Amazing place.

We stop there regularly on our winter trips as it’s a great birding area but never had any football matches at the stadium whilst we’ve been there? ??

Going south. What are these birds around here. Black caps, grey body going into beige, look abit magpie-ish, don't walk but hop, quite a range of calls but quite cute

It is close. But then my daughter lives close to Fratton Road. I love her, but prefer to be here at the mo!

Probably AzureWinged Magpies very amusing if you throw out some bread crumbs?

No one in there just now. More staff than customers. I almost felt sorry for them. So I came back up here and had a few glasses of red!

Remember the site well!!

Our first foray into Spain 2014 (I think) very good facilities Inc. (Then) a small table and two chairs on each pitch to eat off!

Always remember a big Brit reg. van coming onto the next pitch but one and the driver getting out, connecting ehu and then setting about assembling a sat dish. It took him 1/2 hr to set up a tripod ( think scaffolding poles) and then wheeled the biggest dish I have seen ever come out of a garage !!
Had to come out of the garage door diagonally..
Mounted the dish and then strapped himself into a contraption like the usherette at a cinema wears when selling ice cream.

It was covered in buttons, levers and joysticks like a video game and set the dish whirring and shuddering around. He would stop and shout "Anything" followed by an invisible voice inside the motorhome saying "No".
This continued for about 2 hours as the voices got louder and frantic shouts from inside the van of "Its nearly time" . The operators question of "Anything" became interspersed with curses and mumblings and then the voice inside announced "You needn't f*******g bother now it will be finished now anyhow"

A few more curses from the operator followed by a swift kick at the scaffolding tripod and dish knocking it down the slope into the next pitch which luckily was empty. Games controller thrown into the garage and operator stomps into motorhome where more loud discussions could be heard! :roflmto: :roflmto:
My first and only introduction to satellite dishes. Never, ever bothered with them after that.

On a more positive note, they sold the ACSI books then and was our first ACSI site booking.

Fond memories:giggle:

Cake crumbs or anything like that?
Cake? We're Pensioners! Got some low calorie crackers, will they do? I did laugh at one that arrived just after us, and made a fuss about trying to eat a stone or something. He (or she, mustn't be sexist, but probably a he) suddenly fllew up into the underside of the table! Great kerfuffle, he won't come back to show his face in the morn!

They've got a stack of them (ACSI books) there now. And the tables are still here. I noticed the French neighbour from a big new Hymer go down a few bays and pick a better table from there. So I did the same! And no, you don't eat from the chairs. Or am I being pedantic?

Where? Mr Google doesn't recognise Cascares, and wants to show me the Cascades Shopping Centre!

Azure magpies, not sure if that’s how you spell it. This was taken when we were there.

Great site, we really enjoyed our stay there and theres a large chinese shop selling everything just along the other side of the carriageway.

Only thing we didn't like was the mixed grill meal we had, it was swimming in grease.

A nice site, huge outdoor pool too!

I woke up to a dead battery on my Dodge Ram whilst there, got it going and went to a battery/tyre dealer across the road in the industrial estate.

Very helpful people, he hadn't got one, but would get one within an hour. 40 minutes later, the battery arrived and it was checked and fitted for approx e100.

I'll avoid the mixed grill, and perhaps should avoid the Chinese shop this time around!

What number is it in the ACSI book please?
