I’ve been looking at getting one of these Dashcam’s for a while. However, they have never dropped below £149.

I stumbled across a web link and was able to purchase a 522GW, hardwiring kit and Nextbase 32gb microSD Card for £120.

Google Nextbase 522GW Red Bundle and you’ll get the offer. I ordered on Tuesday and took delivery today. (y)

I have the 332GW with hardwire kit, great piece of kit.

Thanks

Just ordered one, I’ve been putting off getting a dash cam through laziness 🙄

It’s given me a lift after our defeat today 😉😊
Don’t talk about it! Two sons who think they’re Welsh just because their Mother comes from the Valleys!

Great price for the dashcam......sitting in the kitchen setting it up now. Easy. (y)

Good piece of kit. I have one in the van and the car. Make sure you keep the card re-formatted. Mine failed the one time i needed it.

Although it comes with a 32gb SD Card, I’ve got a 128gb Extreme Pro to put in it. (y)

Do you have a link?

Google search doesn't show anything less than £150.

Nextbase earns its keep by making no demands on me other than just being there.
I genuinely feel vulnerable when I drive without it, although I never want to need it.

Google Nextbase 522GW RED Bundle. (y)

Worried if I put a direct link it may disappear...... 🤷‍♂️

Yes it does over write itself. You do need to remember to re-format it monthly, but of course it is easy to forget, which is what i did.

A dashcam has saved me for 2 incidents where the recording showed it was the other parties fault. They are well worth the money.

Why do you have to reformat the card monthly....? I never do that with my dash cam (Prestigo)......

Just wondering - is it a big job to wire it into an X-290 Ducato? Which bits of trim have to come out (I hate doing that, the fixings always break)? Has anybody done similar, or knows the wrinkles?

My dashcam footage successfully secured the prosecution of a crazy driver recently.
I've had them in all our vehicles for nearly 5 years now and totally agree with there usefulness.

I’ve had my next base on my screen for two years and never formatted and it works just fine...

Does the kit come with leads to enable moving the camera from one vehicle to another?

I don't want it fixed permanently in one vehicle.

List of items on the box, hardwire kit and 32gb SD Card.

There is a thread on here somewhere, with a good explanation and photographs of how to hardwire. (y)

You don’t have to remove any trim. The cable is thin enough just to tuck behind trim. If you don’t want to hardwire, then you just plug it into your dashboard 12v socket.

There is a thread on here for hardwiring which I’ll be following. (y)

My Nextbase 322GW, in the car, freezes when I haven’t reformatted for a while. Never remember to do it, so first I know is when it won’t work.

Because it’s on an endless loop, maybe it just needs a good clear out every now and again? 🤷‍♂️

Menu, format....job done. Takes seconds to do.

Possibly some issue with the CODEC implementation by Nextbase then, as other dashcams don’t seem to need this reformat......?

Iv'e got a cheap dashcam that I picked up from a market for £18 works fine, I have found that when the van goes in for it's MOT or work to be done the garage always pulls the plug out, I wonder what they don't want me to see!

It may be that I’m not using a Nextbase SD Card.....they are silly priced.

However I do use a good quality make....Sandisk. (y)

I changed garages when my dash cam saw what went on....😳

I've got the 512gw version have been using it successfully for around 5yrs .
A good bit of kit that helped with a claim in 2018.

Only negative with the 512 was the Nextbase logo splashed across the screen on videos ,though after a call to nextbase cc I was sent a link to change the system so no longer got the logo.

Need another one so having a ponder :giggle:

The reason that it is recommended to reformat the SD card regularly is due to the fact that every time the camera is started or stopped it creates a fragmented file. In itself not an issue but if the camera is used daily, and restarts a few times a day (set up to switch on/off with the ignition) then you end up with a number of fragmented files which can cause performance issues with SD cards. Recommendation from most manufacturers of Dashcams, and SD cards used in dashcams, is to reformat on a regular basis to ensure top performance. How often is regular will depend on how often the camera is stopped.
