Has anyone mounted one on the dash, it’s easy to mount on the windscreen but I want it to be out of sight when the blinds are drawn and permanently wired in. I could easily stick it to the dash with the sucker but it’s upside down then, or does that matter.
I’d like it the right way up if possible.

It may have an option in setting to turn the picture upside down.
Does that involve doing a head stand? :xgrin:

Sorry Hettie's Crew, I am watching this thread with interest, my thought was to remove the totally redundant rear view mirror and you may find that you can use part of the window mount by separating it in two pieces, then hopefully the round ball will fit into the bracket that the rear view mirror socket that was for the now defunct mirror....if you get my drift.
Ideal position if it works, but I need to find out how to detach the rear view mirror away from the bracket which is not demountable.

Don't be silly, you turn the van over and sit on the roof lining.

See above to rotate screen
Fit mount to dash and select rotate and picture turns right way up.

Exactly same issue here, blinds have the cutout but can't leave the camera on and close them.

Someone has probably come up with an ingenious neat solution.

Saw one where they mounted it on some plastic sheet and clipped it into the clipboard bit in the middle of the dash

I mount mine on the dash on my Hymer B584.
I cut a piece of Perspex and stuck that to the air duct around the windscreen.

I leave ours on the screen and roller blind misses it it has a sensor on the camera that activates if van is bumped etc so if it’s hit whilst I’m not around we have a picture of who did it hopefully??

As pappajohn says you can mount it on the dashboard and invert the picture in the settings. Works OK but found that we got a fair amount of reflection from the windscreen even using a polarising filter. Probably due to the distance between camera and screen(?).

We now mount it where the "redundant" internal mirror is \ was with the mount coming through the spring loaded inserts on the blinds.

You can see where the mirror was mounted (above - black shape).

The only downsides are we have to reattach the power plug to the mount and realign before setting off.

I mount my 312GW upside down on the dash (LHD). It's permanently wired from the fuse box and exits from under the speedo binacle. Had to file a small semi-circular depression in the underside surround to where the binacle fits to get the wire through. You need to remove the binacle which is an easy job.

That'll be one Guinea. :gum:
Or save your guinea (and the cost of the mount) and stick the self-adhesive plate that comes with the dashcam to the dash then use the standard suction mount fitted to it.
Two florins please.:xThumb:
