I'm a newbie
Hi people of motorhome fun

I am excited to say I am picking up a 2004 ldv luton van tomorrow and will be spending the next few months converting it into my full time home. At least for a short while.
The plan is to install solar panels and if the wife will let me, a lithium ion leisure battery. Pricy things.

So any information and advice on getting power into the van would be great.
Besides that I will also need to build a wall behind the rear shutter and hoping to install a large double glazed window and door with some cladding around them. So when parked we can open the shutter and have a great view out. I'm just concerned with the glass breading when driving.

Next thing or first thing to do is insulation! What's recommended for a good price.

I'll leave it at that for now as worried I'm getting carried away.

Thank you all in advance.

Dom.

Hi Dom,and welcome (y) make sure you get toughened glass and Kingspan type insulation would be good (y) I would hold off the lipo battery for now and use cheapest flooded lead acid batts you can find ....both batts and kingspan can be found on eBay cheaper than anywhere else I have found ..

Hi and welcome, saw a luton van on a site last year, shutter on back. opened up to reveal patio door inside could see a three piece suite or at least sofa and one chair some steps put at the back for access. dread to thnk how much it weighed though.
