Hi All

After much searching we are in the process of buying our first motorhome a 2016 Pilote P716P!

Thought we better join some sort of group because we might need help when we break stuff!! (y)

Now in the process of sorting out the boring stuff Insurance, tax and a place to store the thing!!

Anyway all good fun no doubt we will be in touch on a fairly regular basis asking ridiculous questions!!

Regards
Adrian and Louise :D

My first bit of advice would be to become a paid member of the site as that unlocks all sorts of other stuff including discounts on insurance (but check the policy is the correct one for you before you buy of course).

As a paid member you can also come on rallies where you will have a lot of fun and meet many other people who will always try to help you solve any problems. You might even find some of the suggestions sensible or useful or even both (if you are very very lucky).

However to meet new people on a campsite open the bonnet of your van, stand back and look puzzled - you will very soon have an audience.

To be the entertainment on a camp site try to put up a standalone awning.

You are restricted in the number of posts you can make until you pay your subscription.

Hi.gif
and a warm welcome from us.
Now that you are a fully paid up member, you have access to the 'Resources' section where you can download Jim's excellent 'Motorhome Buyers Guide'. It's well worth reading before you part with your hard-earned cash.

Sir, I'll have you know this is the finest hand crafted, refined, fountain of knowledge in the known universe. It has two entries in the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy and if you come to any of the meets you will meet creatures clearly not of this planet.

I also did a lot of research - about 2 years, and then another 2 to find the model I had identified I wanted (N&B Arto 69GL) I think I got a good one - 6 years old, 16,000 miles. Anyway now, 10 years later, we are still enjoying it and are happy with it.

I hope it will be the same with your Pilote

Hi and welcome.

We did zero research before we bought our first van. Just went into a dealer liked the look of one and bought it. The fact that it was too long to fit on our drive occurred to us later...

Hope you enjoy your van

Hi Anthea and Richard,

You've bought a real nice van there.

Have you seen the Pilote section in the Continental bit of the forum below - it's a very useful guide to all things Pilote.

I wish you well for your up and coming adventures.

All the best,

Andrew
