Hi - been reading up on a lot of info on here regarding a lot of different topics. Me and the boss (wife 😉) are heading to France and Spain in a couple of weeks for our first proper trip in the MH. It has calor gas bottles, 1 x 6kg and 1 x 12kg, I realise I cannot get refills for these while away, but I am guessing they should hopefully last for a 24 day trip? Presuming we will not require heating, only bit of cooking, hot water and fridge when not on ehu!
Do you think I am being realistic - I know there are a lot of variants etc but just going for it at mo ☺

I don't know your usage patterns but relying on what you say and assuming your cylinders are almost full I predict that you will barely have emptied the entire 11KG cylinder by the time of your return if that.

Thanks for reply, cylinders will be full - will go with it , if it goes pear shaped will know to look into refillable ones for next time 👍

Assuming both bottles are full you will have at least 35( 11+24) litres of gas.
We used to bank on using 1 to 1.5 litres per day. For large fridge freezer and brew ups on the gas hob and some cooked hob meals.
So with 35 litres you may just scrape through provided you don't go mad with hot water etc..If you can get ehu a couple of overnights then you should be ok.
Enjoy your trip and don't worry about it.
( ps although " expensive per litre.the portable camp cookers with the canister gas refills are a good back up and good for a boiling a kettle on) (y)

10 days. Fridge on gas and gas ring for coffees (cooking in air fryer and toaster) my mopeds (EDIT MOPEKA 😂 ) says I have used 30% of a (EDIT 11KG) bottle. Hope this helps

Worst case scenario, you can get Camping Gaz 907 cylinders everywhere. Just need an adapter and a pigtail to suit. Expensive way to buy gas though. If you have a motor homing career ahead of you, then over the years a refillable system will pay for itself.

Update for anyone in same boat as us - back from a fantastic trip, 25 days I think, used the 12kg bottle first, as said for fridge when off grid, hot water and bit of cooking/ kettle etc and still going, did not need the 6kg although good to know it was there for backup 👍

Just had a month out in Germany and Austria. Used gas for cooking and a few nights of heating. We used 4 litres of gas.

Well done. Good to know you didn't run out. (y)
