Hi all!
I was going to introduce myself in the appropriate thread but this seems more in keeping with my reason for joining.
I need to start with a confession and that is that I am not (currently) a motorhome owner and the reason for this is that I have just renewed my Motability contract; that and the fact that I'm skint.
In three years, I will no longer be skint and it is my intention to come off the scheme and join the merry band of motorhomers. I will have a budget of around £15k for my first vehicle and I was looking for some pointers, bearing in mind that this will be my everyday vehicle.
There is a conversion outfit, not too far from where I live, who specialise in Japanese imports, such as the Nissan Elgrand and Toyota Granvia/Regius & Alphard. They supply the van for around £6k and convert upwards of £899, depending on the level of conversion and the vehicle you choose.
My priority would be a toilet cubicle with two side-mounted, single beds (I'm nearly 48 and quite content in my singledom), with a kitchen unit to house, or sit a two-burner campstove on and store a small fridge, if space allows. Upper kitchen units could store some luggage.
Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated, which is why I'm doing my research now.
Thanks.
