Hi.

Any one know of some were to stay for new years eve and a few days preferably west Wales.

Just heard tonight from a reliable source that Wales will most likely be in lockdown for the month of January

We are staying at home as usual,,BUSBY..

News hints at Welsh not welcoming visitors over Christmas, Unconfirmed as far as I know.

If you're looking for total peace, quiet and isolation over the new year, then you could try wilding at Llyn Brianne reservoir next to the dam or in the parking area below it. (Where we usually go) There are a few other parking spots further on from the dam but we found the dam end to be the nicest.

Take all you need with you because there's nothing there but beautiful hills (RSPB site on the way up to the dam) and sheep and you may as well switch off your mobile phone too because there is no service there at all.
You'll need to take the single track road from Llandovery past the fire station (which also goes past the C&cc site at Rhandirmwyn), the road is fine for motorhomes because forestry trucks use it. But don't whatever you do, go via the devils staircase. As the name suggests, it's a devil of a road with very, very tight and steep hairpin bends, especially bad if you're in a front wheel drive motorhome because you won't have the lock to make the turns in one go and would probably spin out on the steep turns anyway.

Hi Vick .
We might give that a try ,we went up there around 12 yrs ago when we had a n american fifth wheel for a while and used to keep it at Dylans site in Cynhordy one day we went there in the truck that was a dodge 250 pickup and yes ended up (luckily) going down that staicase something i would not want to do to often.

After our idiots are let out on the 23rd we'll probably be locked down again.
