Our new van has arrived at the garage.
The garage gave an idea of taking the van un registered to our shed on trade plates, we then do the conversation and it get registered as a motorhome.
The problem is insuring a un registered vehicle. Can be done but they require a years non refundable insurance payment, on the vehicle which has to be registered in 30 days, from the start of the policy.

So register the vehicle and insurance it as a van which it is, start to build the Motorhome and as you are modifying the vehicle , it’s now not insured.

what’s the best way to sort this out?

Thank you

If the Trader is transporting it on Trade plates it should be covered by his Insurance but if the van is in your name then maybe not!

It’s not now it gets to us, it’s how to insure it during the conversion.

Have you tried Adrian Flux or C&CC. Adrian Flux used to allow 12Months for conversion.
AF still do as far as I know I've used it twice.

Just kampers may do they were cheaper than AF on renewal. They weren't worried it's not registered as a camper so long as it looks like one, has a bed, kitchen and loo.

Do you have insurance for the premises that you could add the van to.
