Set of on my travels and put the foot down , and the engine or Comformatic gearbox seemed to miss a beat and the engine management light came on.
Booked it in to Fiat Professional dealer in Inverness and was told that there was a software update available and two other items were checked over as well.
The van is less than two years old and my previous van had a software update when it was a year old as well. I have the Fiat app on my phone and I believe you can check on there if there are updates due. Didn’t check obviously as there would need to be an alert showing before I would look at it. Firing on all cylinders at the moment.

The app only checks for recalls, although I'm not sure if it still workls. I thought Fiat had withdrawn it? You can still check for recalls on the MyDucato or MyFiatCamper websites.

There are literally tens of software updates for various ECUs issued every year. Many of them only fix things that might be a problem on only a handful of vehicles. Fiat's policy, along with most other manufacturers, is to only apply them to previous production vehicles if they fix a fault which has occurred on that vehicle and can be demonstrated by the owner or the dealer.

Volvo are one of the few manufacturers who make a point of advertising that they will apply all the latest updates free of charge at each dealer service. Volvo forums are full of people complaining that the latest update has broken something or changed something adversely.

It's a bit like Windows updates that break your computer. If you have a problem it's worth appolying the fix, but if you don't know that you have a problem, don't try and fix it, it might end up worse (y)
