I wish I’d thought this through when speccing our Globecar PVC.

Anyway, we had a radio fitted by dealer. It’s fine, but I’m spoilt by our cars and used to Apple Carplay mirroring.

I’ve looked online but really don’t know what I want.

There’s a Pioneer AVIC-EVO1-DT2-C-GR Which fits in the dash.

There’s also an Alpine which is a bigger screen and sits in front.

Any advice/recommendations? Even if just to stop me making another mistake?

Thanks
.

You could check out eBay no 173697527201

There are loads of these double din sets around this price, but are they any good?? Who knows, I’m a bit nervous about getting one!!

+1. We paid for a radio CD satnav unit in our new van and when we queried the make were told it was fine. Its a fair enough radio and CD player also plays DVDs and takes a USB or an sd card for music, works as hands free for the phone and displays the reversing camera when backing up, and we listen to bbc radio on it via Bluetooth from a phone but runs Windows CE so we're a bit stuffed upgrading the sat nav. Haven't fully researched a replacement but minded that a unit running android may be better re satnav software. Not sure though...

dont know if u have single or double din sized hole. (If u will excuse the question)

But I would suggest that knowing android helps in setting it all up.

Westy....You get what you pay for !! The Chinese versions flooding the market are a nightmare. Steer clear and wait til the pennies get higher in the pile and then buy brand you can trust.

I’ve tried Chinese tools!!!......they’re crap!!

We've got a Sony XAV-AX100 because it's CarPlay/Android Auto and it's cheap. Works really well, other than it's a bit slow to boot.Sony has replaced it with the AX3005 which is apparently a lot quicker.

With huge respect...there is Chinese and then...There's Chinese! They actually do make some quality stuff. No doubt about it. That aside...There are some producers out there that try and do get away with anything. SO..I dont and wont run ALL the Chinese down but I would rather buy quality than junk to be honest.
As regards the Sat nav systems etc...I have had three at good money or so I thought? Found them to be Crap or Junk as the sat nav was not compatible with any update whatso ever! The software was something out of the ark!By that ...it was either running slow or slower than it could! Does not matter what it was...It was usesless! If its to be, then Japanese any day. Korean is a second best . The Chinese is struggling behind the UK and that is only 'Just'..!
Always buy what you can afford to buy. Dont buy it if it its too cheap! You honestly get what you pay for .

The problem with the cheap Chinese ones is the minimum quality standard is far lower than the branded ones so you could end up with a really good one or a crap one.
When I traded my last van I took my Clarion out and fitted a £99 ebay unit I surprised how well it worked. It didn't all the features I would have wanted & sound quality wasn't as good as the Clarion so I'm pleased I had spent an extra 500 quid on the Clarion.

I have absolutely no idea berni109. But I think a single din can be converted?

if its the size of an old car radio its single din if its twice that size its double.
the one i linked to is single but with a 7"screen which is about the normal size for the double din size.
