NEW 'MOST BEAUTIFUL VILLAGES & TOWNS' GUIDE

The award of ‘Plus Beaux Villages de France’, the ‘Most Beautiful Villages in France’ has been given to over 150 villages throughout France where each village has fewer than 2,000 inhabitants & has a ‘rich natural heritage’ with at least 2 listed monuments. Whilst the title of ‘Petites Cités de Caractère de France’ - ‘Small Towns of Character’ is awarded to small municipalities boasting a high-quality architectural heritage & who undertake to preserve this heritage.

The new ‘Most Beautiful Villages & Towns in France by Motorhome' Guide covers 19 'former' regions of France visiting the listed Villages & Towns in these regions as well as UNESCO World Heritage sites, a total of 275 locations. These visits having been researched and planned for a motorhome, with suggested stopovers at each location. Visits have primarily been planned using all-year-round aires as stopover places – with alternative campsites suggested, if preferred (and if they are open). The guidebook has detailed descriptions of each location visited together with tourist information, location maps, photos & GPS coordinates. Full information is given on each aire used as well as a review, facilities, prices, opening times as well as alternative nearby campsites. The book also includes details of aires (not on, but) near to the motorway junctions that can be used as a stopover en-route to your destination. The book is available from Amazon for £11.99 inc p&p. I already have the Beautiful Villages guide, keep in the moho along with various other guides, but have ordered the Villages and Towns guide this morning from https://www.motorhomingfrance.co.uk/

I like reading guides..:giggle:

Just another thumbs up for Alan Russel's excellent website at

https://www.motorhomingfrance.co.uk/

He is English and lives in France and he has lots of info on the website, plus he writes a monthly newsletter which one can receive by e-mail; mine arrived this morning including info on several guides including the subject one. To receive the e-mail go to the website and scroll to the bottom.

I'm going to buy one and so thanks for bringing it to my attention.

However I can't help but notice that Amazon is still up to its malpractice of presuming I want to subscribe to Prime. If I don't opt out of the £6.99 monthly subscription they will charge £4.99 to post a modest sized book.

Rant over ?
