on our way to the tunnel last week, we thought we would pop into the new Lidl at Whitfield near Dover. It was dark, we drove into the entrance to be confronted by height barriers with a tiny notice on the top of the barrier stating 2.9 metres!
No signs anywhere till you get to the barrier, which meant we had to turn round in the entrance to escape.
Went to Tesco instead.

They had to put the height barrier in as more and more HGVs were parking in there. But I agree it's not signed very well.

I hadn't noticed, nor did the Lidl Delivery driver.

They were getting a problem ther since it opened, more an more foreign driver got to know and filled it up at night when the got their deliveries in the morning. Thats what happen when the KCC closes off nearly every layby and junction. Poor sods are required by law to park up and nothing except the private park at Lydden at £25 per 24 hours or part thereof.

Keeps me out so it will be Tescos from now on even if they are dearer for everything, I only live a mile away but their loss not mine, The local Aldi teamed up with scabby parking eye or the like so it will not be going there either.. Pokey people visit the tescos and park up for a bit so they do not like them very much either, there were about 12 Irish vans and caravans parke opposite Lidls some time ago so that prompted the barrier.
