I got fed up trying to keep the rhymer yellow carpets clean so we bought some Flotex and had it fitted. The carpet fitter wanted to glue it down he didn't realise we had access hatches on the floor. Hymer B544.

Looks great. Is Flotex easy to clean?

It's rubber backed, used in high traffic areas as well as commercial properties. I intend to use our pressure washer to clean ours the pile is short. It does absorb water so I intend scotch guarding ours before we use the van.

many many years! since I was a kid
I was gifted the end of a roll of flotex by a contractor friend, who saved several similar pieces from the skip on a very big job. lovely quality and fully waterproof, I fitted it in our bathroom at the time. months later I was at the brand new local hospital and some areas had identical carpet. turns out the nhs is so wasteful, that they dump all excess materials rather than store it. When I spoke to my friend about it, he confirmed that there were huge skips of everything from carpet and ceiling tiles through to new doors and electrical equipment, all signed off to go to landfill

For cleaning carpets I found that Aldi or Lidles sold a 'rubber' bristled hand brush. It really worked well on everything including pesky fir tree bits that seem to cling on.
We bought various carpet shapes from a nice lady at Motorhome Shows. The fluff coming off was terrible.
