News is that Brittany Ferries are having two of the new Chinese ships for the Spanish Route.

Three new ships on

the horizonI'm delighted to let you know that we've confirmed the charter of

two brand new cruise-ferries to serve our long-haul UK to Spain routes. Both

ships will be built at the Avic International Weihai shipyard in China, with

the first arriving in time for the 2021 summer season. The new ships will

follow hot on the helps of Honfleur, our brand new LNG-powered cruise-ferry

which is due to serve the Portsmouth to Caen route from June next year.

Together the three ships will spearhead a wide-ranging, five-year

fleet-renewal and modernisation programme worth around £400m. This is a

clear sign of our confidence in demand for ferry travel to France and Spain

post-Brexit, and we look forward to welcoming you on board the new ships

over the next few years.

The newsletter says that it has confidence in the demand for UK to Spain travel after Brexit. Not that confident to build their own but charter from Stenna, wonder how long they have signed up for.

Not wishing to pour cold water on this but only a couple of years back they had a new build replacement for the Pont Aven, which disappeared in a puff. So I won't hold my breath.
