I have had a motorhome or a camper van since I was 23 years old (ish) (now 72) and I have lived fulltime in one for over 30 years, mostly off-site, but I have never ever...

1. Had a habitation check.
2. Weighed my van (or been weighed)
3. Checked the age of my tyres.
4. Paid for breakdown insurance (except once by mistake).
5. Cleaned out my fresh water tank.
6. Done a damp check prior to purchase.
7. Selected a van because of its layout.
8. Ever thought for a nano second about buying special "camper" or "winter" tyres.
9. Ever needed a "reverse polarity" thingy.
10. Used a "food grade" hose pipe.
11. Had a carbon monoxide alarm.
12. Had "motorhome software" on my sat nav.
13. Used beam deflectors.
14. Been moved on at night by the police.
15. Been broken into when in the van.
16. Used (except once) a triangle thingy on my bike rack.
17. Unravelled my hook up cable to prevent it catching fire.

Just saying...

Ah, but you don't say you haven't been gassed...

... but do you ever move it JJ ... more than just to get more stocks of FB pies from the local 'English' supermarket?

I have a shorter list: 1, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10, 11, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17.
Or the inverse - I have: 2, 3, 7, 12. And I leave my waste open when the tank is empty.
Pushing our luck apparently :D2.

He is a proper ruffty tuffty :D

Yes he is, but he has sat in his chair under our awning and protested about our washing out while free parking in our company.

You forgot.
Cleaned inside the van.

We have also witnessed JJ cleaning the inside, ;) normally just before the arrival of @yodeli Frankie. :h:
In fact we have given him a device to assist him in such activities . :pop: Bob.

I would concur with most of those except No 3. Especially with my latest van which doesn't have a spare.

@JJ man after my own heart, I admit to having breakdown cover but carry a full compliment of tools, jack and wheel brace etc. Just spent the day rebuilding the carver water heater with new seals and valves ( and it works !) I bet you haven't got tyre pressure monitors or a rear view camera either. Keep on trucking!

@JJ,Sssssshhhhhhhhhhh. If we were all like you,mhf would die a slow and painful death.;);)

Can agree that most on the list are not needed except the CO carbon monoxide detector

A friend of mine was almost killed by CO on a boat. My detector went off when cooking without enough ventilation - vans (and boats) are very small spaces to heat or cook

Well done!
You have got away with a lot.

Plenty haven't been so lucky.

Makes sense when you realise this is JJ's motorhome:

I have been told you have never cleaned it either but I don't believe it!

so how many times without you in it?

Four times in over forty years...

In Turin... home recorded cassette tapes nicked.
In Blackpool... electric shaver and a friend's back pack.
Twice in Madrid, just outside the Bernabeu Stadium... nothing of mine but clothes of one of my fellow passengers and a Dusty Springfield tape of the other.

(Two of us were delighted about the DS tape...)

JJ

I do have a Co detector but the rest is the same as you my van was discribed as lived in
Many times
Bill

I have done all of those things not necessarily regularly I am a sort of anti-JJ I suppose

Except paying for someone to do a hab check which is easily done oneself

You're a very norty boy
