Should the water filler cap not have a cover similar to the electric hook up one ? If water gets in the pump connector above it it could cause a problem. In the short term I would just cover the plug somehow.

No, the water filler doesn't have a cover like the EHU socket. The OP's 12v socket does have a cover. It was the filler cap that was missing.

From your photo there looks to be vacuum or breather pipes unattached and I can't see an air cleaner housing so think you have more bits missing as well.

I cant see where I put the oil in

Looking at your pics I think this cap pulls off, and that is where oil is added.
