Have owned my moho for 2.5 years now
Has anyone taken their Moho over to holy island. Not to stay just for the day? If they have what's the parking like also is there somewhere to park on the main land
Tia

Looks like plenty of room in the car park if you look closely on Google maps there’s a motorhome there.😊

Barn at Beal. This is just at the top of the road that takes you down to the crossing. Great food too. Enjoy your trip 👍

Yes. No problem with car park use….. daytime only……no overnight stop. Also can endorse the Barn at Beal recommendation.

I’m there on Saturday 23rd April but will be in a friends car which is not much help to your question but from my research, there is good parking for a Motorhome and as others have said the Barn is very handy for visiting Holy Island.

We had an 8mtr Burstner tag and parked no problem.

There is a big car park plus some areas you can pull into ,but not for overnighting. It's s pay car park. As said just check the tide tables .
Bambrough castle is worth a look as well ,large car park there and there was some mention of allowing overnighting potentially from April.

I've just finished watching a programme about Lindisfarne. Very interesting spot although I visited solo back in my caravanning days.

You have your answers re parking.

For me it is a magical place.

I first visited in about 1962. The tide was ebbing so we sat waiting for the causeway to dry and then a heavy thunderstorm and lightening opened overhead - bit uncomfortable in a minivan being the only visible bit of metal around.

Beware to not to be tempted to cross the causeway when it still has even 2-3 inches of water as the fast tidal current flowing across it can soon dislodge your traction. Wait till the water has totally subsided and you can see the road surface.

If you cannot stay overnight what happens if you misjudged the tide in the evening and you can’t get off.?

Car park huge this is our van there, it gets busy though

You sit patiently on the access road, or just off it on the approach, until the causeway is clear! It's only six hours maximum so no need to go to bed...........................

:LOL::LOL::LOL::LOL:

Had a coach driver colleague who misjudged his timings and the tide had come in when he tried to leave. His passengers were NOT impressed, especially as everywhere was closed.

It surprising how fast the tide comes in over the causeway ,we went on our bikes from the Haven site a couple of miles away and watched the tide come in it's quite subtle but soon covers the road. Just make sure there are no festivals going on at the farm on the mainland side otherwise it may take you a couple of hours to get back to the main road.

2 different families/vehicles stuck in the last few weeks, one couple with a baby abandoned their car and we’re seen wading through the water carrying the child.
A spokesman came on said its surprising how many people just see the road and drive over it without even checking the signs/tides etc. How daft and dangerous is that?

Not uncommon at Birdham where I kept my boat........ there are several signs along the foreshore road.
