We would normally come up the M42 and follow the signs for parking at the NEC and in the past have been in a car. This time we'll be in the van having overnighted a bit nearer to the NEC.

We got caught out for one show and ended up in one of the South car parks, there were no buses to be seen and people ended up walking, but it was right over for the halls around Hall 20 and we had to walk past the Ramada Hotel, in the main entrance and then over the skywalk - I can't walk that far this week, it would be a physical impossibility for me.

Having looked at the show map I see that this week's show is in Halls 1-5, if anybody has been to the show this week which car park were you directed to and did you come North or South from the M42; we can easily go past and change direction to come in from the North if we could end up in a car park which doesn't entail a lot of walking or standing around for a bus.

Would it be worth trying following the signs for the Disabled Parking then on arrival at the gate to one of those nearest car parks explain that you can't walk too far & maybe they will allow you to park there? They might just wave you in if in a busy queue but worth checking that there aren't any penalties for not displaying a Blue Badge. It may be possible to hire a scooter https://www.thenec.co.uk/visitors/disabled-visitors/ .
We've been many times to both the Motorhome Shows & other events & have only once been parked (inside a hall!) within easy walking distance.
Maybe print some of these for free drinks https://www.motorhomefun.co.uk/forum/threads/free-drinks-at-ccm-nec-february-show.213242/ too

Always park in the train station car park as it is only an elevator ride then a short walk to the halls ?

Is that also a free car park when events are on?

Just been today in van. Parking free. Came from north and directed to East car parks. Plenty of shuttle buses to all show car parks

Just follow the signs, backfilling east car parks, not a lot of options. No problem with buses. A bit wet on the way out.

quite a few vans overnighting in carparks tonight

Thanks for the replies, as we don't know if it would be east as well if we come in from the south we'll probably go up and drop down to come in from the north. The east car parks are definitely the best for those particular halls - last February we were sent to a car park with very few of the show vehicles and as a result although we had no problem getting to the show it was a nightmare to get back as we were told that the bus we wanted didn't collect from where the show was!
