Anyone been to N.E.C. show yet this week??

(No Dusseldorf Fundamentalists please- we know it's better there)

We went yesterday ,not crowded pleasant bumbling around, only in 5 halls but traffic on way home grim.

Is it best to pre buy the entrance tickets or pay at the door?
Also is the parking (in a motorhome) free and included in the ticket price ?

I've never been before , how does this size compare to normal

Went yesterday not crowded but a bit disappointed at the amount of stands seemed a bit thin on the ground.
Parking included in the ticket price.

Normally around a pound cheaper for pre-buy, but you will then pay one pound admin fee, but that's on the transaction not each ticket. Parking and guide included.
We shall be there Fri plaguing the life out of @eddievanbitz and asking all the same questions i asked @nickvanbitz, but have now forgotten the answers to. And of course drinking his horrible plain ol boring hot chocolate.;)

Think you might be too late for pre-buy now the show has started

The big show can be about 15 halls or even more and is in October . To look around properly is a two day job and many stay overnight at the NEC.

Just got back:) was busy but traffic not too bad in and out. Plenty to see for the 5 hours we stayed - although not many A class which we were interested in looking round.

Got a good “show” deal on a tracker with immobiliser (in my option so no one tell me I could of got it half price else where and was robbed etc:D). There did seem to be some good show offers on items other than motorhome actually.

We got given the tickets so must admit probably wouldn’t of bothered if we had to buy them but it was a nice afternoon out.

If by any chance your going to pass Junction 12 on the M6 I have 2 free tickets available. Friends can't make it.
There may be another 2 as well as I feel like S###, had planned to go today but called into docs due to chest infection.:(:notworthy:

@Bart you get first shout just message me. Otherwise anyone else passing I will do in order of asking...

I'll be coming from Nottingham directly to the show so no idea if that's near m6 j12 as will have to put in my sat nav.

The best route from Nottingham is nowhere near junction 12. That's the junction just before the M6 toll southbound unless you come off the M42 and head toward Telford. Not bad truck stop off junction 12.

No.. you won't pass and would cost as much in fuel.. never mind.

A lot smaller than the October show. Even that one seems to get smaller every year due to high rent that they charge.

Went yesterday with friends, not a lot about really to buy, whilst they were looking at a caxxxxn!!!!! we went to look at the motorhomes mistake fell in love with Swift Kon Tiki 650 and it was only £96k!!!!! Big discussions on the way home but resisting the temptation for now:):D

Just got back from NEC.... won't bother again!

Just because Knaus are one of the biggest brands in the business, and just because PVC's are the booming part of the market, don't expect to see any Knaus panel vans at all. Not one. A whole stand without a single PVC on it

Spoke to a very helpful and apologetic chap from Knaus - apparently the organisers wouldn't let them bring any PVC's to this show (n). So if you're going in the next few days, don't assume anything !

Just got back, surprised at how busy it was. A fair amount to see by way of vans and pvcs, quite a few accessory stalls and had a couple of good chats with people about levelling systems and salami! Bought some of the aforementioned salami ( what on earth does salami have to do with motorhome or caravans?) but other than a couple of very reasonably priced cups of coffee and a slice of delicious bread pudding didn’t spend a penny. Not a single van tempted me which is unusual, and there were very few show bargains of any kind around that I could see. The Auto Trail stand was looking very quiet.........

When I went 2 years ago I bought a loft ladder !!!!!

(n)(n) Not that I am bothered either way.. But 1 post saying no PVC's the other saying there is....:whistle:

Wonder if Knaus are trying to grow the Weinsberg “cousin” in uk

Just to clarify - there were plenty of vans .... just no Knaus vans which given their size and reputation seemed odd
I've narrowed my potential choice down to a couple of vans and was hoping to make a final comparison

For some unknown reason Knaus and Weinsberg had a really big stand that was all caravans with not a motorhome or pvc to be seen. Anyone wanting to see the new Knaus motorhome based on the MAN chassis would be sorely disappointed.

The very helpful chap on the Knaus stand did mention there were a couple of Weinsberg panel vans tucked away in Hall 3 next to the Lowdhams stand, (Knaus stand is in Hall 1). But thats yer lot I think.

Well we had an enjoyable enough day, had a look at a £146K Swift but not overly tempted, not too crowded but the eating and drinking places seemed busy.

Travelworld/N+B were not there or Morelo, din't expect to see Concorde so a bit of a No Show Show, had a nice chat with Adam and Sophie from motorhome WiFi and bought some dehydrated mashed potatoe, Mrs funfair bought a couple of scarves that I am sure she doesn't need but that never stops her, I quite liked the look of the Kayacat sailing Kayak/Canoe thingy's but still need to pick up the latest Kayak I have bought but not seen yet so I should give it a miss.

The Giga wind turbine battery charger things looked quite interesting but of course need wind, I know there is always plenty of "hot air" at a Fun rally and even "wind" but not always the type that would charge a battery.
