I've got this bank account£13 a month.
Had anyone used this abroad for breakdown?
What was service like etc.
Would I be safer buying additional cover with insurance (Comfort) rather than relying on this?
I have a Globecar PVC.
Thank you
Why,,they basically all use the same translators to organise your recovery..and most use local recovery firms..BUSBY.

How long can you travel in Europe for with Nationwide flex plus European breakdown cover.I Cannot find anything about duration of cover when traveling abroad.I don’t have the booklet so cannot read the terms and conditions
Look at the details online on the website using the link given in earlier posts.
On page four a Trip is defined as..........

a pre booked continuous journey to the countries as specified within the geographical limits of Section 3D (UK & European Assist) which begins and ends in the UK and which does not exceed 180 days in total during a 12 month period.

We recently renewed with Comfort, from memory to add UK and European breakdown cover to our policy was approximately £60-70 so about half of the Nationwide cost.
But Nationwide also includes travel insurance, mobile phone insurance and white goods insurance.BUSBY.

Don't think there is a limit but its 30 days for travel insurance unless you pay for an extension. We get 90 day multi trip.BUSBY.

Really thinking about the Nationwide Flex Plus account to cover our breakdown and travel insurance ( upgrading for the plus 31 days) , sounds like a great deal ….just looking for the catch though, if there is one .
Our plan is to travel to Spain in Dec for 3 months then in June 2022 we will do the Schengen shuffle …Italy Croatia etc until Nov 2022.

Am I missing something or is Nationwide way to go ?
TIA

Just had a letter today from Nationwide cancelling our travel insurance. They no longer offer it.

EDIT we are on their basic FlexAccount, understand still available with Flex Plus. Apologies for any panic caused.

Elaine has just checked the website. The Insurance is now available only as part of the £13pm Flex Plus Account, which gives free foreign ATM use and free mobile phone insurance, free Worldwide Travel, and free Breakdown Cover for only £156 per annum ... And stillcarries a ridiculously cheap 39.9% APR overdraft rate, should you slip into the red ...

Good value this free stuff ...

I joined last week.
Mainly for the travel insurance which we need for c160 days.
The road assistance not particularly concerning for us as we have independent cover for that which we will continue to renew.

Website says that the Cover for existing customers ceases on 31/12/21, and the policy has not been available to new customers for some time. It seems that existing Flex Account customers who choose NOT to switch to a Flex Plus Account will be given the 'opportunity' to buy discounted travel insurance from another Provider, but no details of the discount or of the Provider.

£270+£13pm = £426 ... C'mon, I'm trying to make light of what has been a pretty depressing day, and this is my best material. Which may explain why career as a comedian never got beyond the Drawing Board ... More like 'Withdrawing; Bored' ...

Lloyds Bank are changing insurers for their travel insurance on 21st November. Dropping from 45 days to 31 days per trip. I hope its not going to be too expensive to extend it.
Sill covering up to 80 years old and most of the other benifit are better. Even bigger list no screen medical conditions you you don't need to declare it was already a big list.

Be careful with your calculations on when you can go back to the EU again next June ... if you go to Spain for 3 month in December, even if it was 15th December 2021, you'd then have used up your full 90 allowance by 14th March 2022, you would then have to wait a full 90 days until you could go into the EU again which would be 12th June at the earliest.

We have an old Premier account with Lloyds which had 62 days , it is dearer but ours has dropped to 31 days as well which is rather disappointing. Must remember to phone and see how much they are going to load it for 60 days which is the most we are likely to do. The cover should be OK for us until next Aug/Sept but like you I was disappointed. The no screen conditions are very comprehensive I agree.

I’ve just been looking and I reckon I am wasting my money keeping the Premier account, all the old benefits have been whittled away and it looks the same as the Platinum.

I have a flex plus account. I don’t know if the t &cs have changed, but when I looked into it they would only cover motor homes up to 3 metres high
