Having a look at the National Trust website I was interested to see that they do working holidays.

Quite a variety of working holidays available, all of which seem to cost the volunteer about £170 per week to take part. So they get your labour and you pay for the privilege, OK it's for a good cause, I'll go with that.

Then I read that the accommodation for sleeping is in a bunkhouse type thing, which means sleeping in the same room as strangers !! Now I'm no prude and if these strangers were Playboy Bunnies, for instance, well I'd be up for that, but these could be anybody, could be Rose West on day release.

So has anyone here done these working holidays ?

It appears to me that this Bunkhouse lark is a deal breaker for me, but are there any working holiday type things where people take their motorhomes to stay in? ie the civilised way to live in the Countryside.

I would be willing to provide the sweat off my back or any of the skills I have and even pay for the privilege of doing so, but dear me, I ain't sleeping in the same room as Rose West or anyone like her !!!

Try asking the NT if they can accommodate your van. Never know, they might work out they can cram 2 more people onto the course.

Some of the places on here would probably let you stay in your motorhome, parking space permitting.
