Below is a guide line taken from the official web site of the NT. We are going to Sheringham Park and Felbrigg Hall [12 and 8 miles] with the van. You do need to book before you go otherwise you may be refused entry.
  • Campervans that are used for transport are welcome but are not permitted to stay overnight. At this time we’re unable to welcome caravans and coaches.

Sat on Cromer seafront listening to the rain on the roof of the van just had giant fish and chips. All good here.
Oooooh! Cromer fish and chips. Booootiful! (y)

At the present time we have glorious SUN make the most of it 85% chance of rain in 15 minutes :cautious:

Rain with scattered sunny spells here in Hemsby.

Got a parking spot reserved for Sheringham Park on Friday, I noticed the same message about overnighting .
Never overnighted there, but the message inferred that it may be tolerated, it has plenty of space.

NT have never allowed overnight parking, especially at their properties.
You may get away with it at some of the landscape sites if you get a friendly warden.
Others will move you on.
To be honest, it's understandable at their properties, they don't know you from Adam and with lots of valuables inside ............

Sheringham Park is just open space.

We were staying at Matalascanas and had a tour of Donana National Park booked for the afternoon. We drove through the nature reserve at Acebron in the morning and were amazed that the Palacio was open to just wander around! We only saw one "guard" during our meander, which included up onto the roof.

That looks a beautiful palace, you can imagine how it would be abused if there was free unrestricted access to it in the UK.
Those porticos and statues would be someone's garden ornaments

We wanted to go and see the rhodedendrons at Sheringham as we are usually over in France at this time.

Just looked and fully booked until 14th June.

Booking not possible yet for 15th onward.

Bookings open on Fridays, you have to be quick, booked mine about 3am in the morning, first trip out.

You should still be Ok for the Rodos and Azaleas. Views of the sea are fabulous.

We've been there many times but never when in full flower. Love it when the steam train crosses the horizon.

We did a trip around Aberdeen area to see the NTS castles, we over nighted at 3. Best one by far was Craigievar castle. When the staff (mostly volunteers) left at about 6pm we just stayed the night as no one else was about. Also stayed at Haddo House and Fyvie.

We were never bothered at all, the problem was that the NTS had started to do tours only, but never advertised the fact nor the times for the tours, so we could arrive at say 2pm and missed the tour for the day, only way was to stay overnight.

The National Trust are in big financial difficulties at the moment and will no doubt have to sell some of their properties or re finance to survive.

There are many NTS places to overnight in Scotland.

Got the fish and chips from Mary Janes, asked for large and got 2 pieces of cod each. Unbelievable.
