Does anyone know where i can buy a radio/cd player for my camper that is not a typical car unit that turns itself off after 50 minutes?

thanks

nick

I think they all do that. It's to prevent you draining the battery and not being able to start the engine. There might be some where you can program it out.

Just bought a Sony in Halfords and it has the option to Auto shut-off : ON or Off in the set-up menu ..

There will be one at Thetford if your interested!

And on most of the Sony DAB/FM /AM/CD Radios you get a remote control so you can turn it off in bed or turn it on without getting up if you have a over garage bed like I have,
I also plug in a iPod that gives me 5 solid days of my own music if needed, great bit of kit,
Also you can run your TV through the AUX to get a surround sound if needed,

Fiat Ducato radios have a Camper setting which extends the running time from 30 mins to 180 mins.

One method here.

I've seen another post with slightly different instructions that worked better for me - I'll try & find it.

EDIT: Found it.

We've got this problem at present - the Blaupunkt Amsterdam 130 that the dealer fitted turns off after an hour ... it's driving me nuts as I like to listen to it whilst I'm fettling in there! Hubby asked at the place we got our alarm fitted and the chap said it's to do with the Fiat Canbus system ... anyone got any ideas as to how to sort it (I know how to do a Fiat fitted radio one but not a non-Fiat one).

My Clarion NX502e does not do it, I also wired it to the leisure battery much more sensible option in a Motorhome.

oh dear I cant get mine to turn off.

Yes it says that it does that in the manual. It does not say though that it is possible to change it ?

Wire the "aux" or ignition terminal to the permanent live by a switch should keep it on. Also connect to hab batteries as I've done now after flattening the starter battery!!

Thanks for your help guys all sorted now
