G’day
I’m currently in Glen Nevis and was thinking of going over to Mull, would it be worth the ferry cost at this time of year, given that everything is closed and weather’s not brilliant,
Any thoughts
Phil

looks like you have answered you own question. Not done Mull but have done the Western isles from top to bottom in May and some days the weather was horrendous. Could also be a bit choppy  crossing

At least you can experience some proper weather
I have met a couple of people that moved up to the western highlands based on what they had found on a summer trip.
You have to be tough be enjoy the winters.
Both had moved back south after a coupe of years

There is a shorter, cheaper alternative crossing compared to the ferry from Oban....

It does involve getting to Lochaline from Fort William but it's a beautiful drive and off the beaten track and hustle and bustle.

If you can see a weather window to suit you, Mull is worth seeing. (y)

You need to factor in the Corran ferry for that crossing though or take the long way around , as said a scenic route but mostly single track. Mull is a lovely island but at this time of year not the best time to benefit from the scenery. Pubs in Tobermory will be open though 😉

The couple that run "Adventure van Freddie" on YouTube might give you a few ideas what to see, should you decide to go. If you do, a few hours in the Mishnish wouldn't go amiss..... themishnish.co.uk
