We are thinking of changing from our PVC to a coachbuilt. Our requirements are a front lounge and rear twin beds (possibly an island bed...) over a garage large enough for two ebikes . There is only the two of us so no other beds required. Double floor would be the ultimate but we will accept well insulated. probably looking at 2018ish model to fit the budget. Probably looking at 7.5m max length. Any suggestions would be very gratefully accepted especially if you have done something similar. Thanks in advance

You are probably need to go European for that layout we have had a Hymer and two Carthagos, with the rear beds and a garage, again for storage of bikes excellent use of space but the German front L shaped lounge leaves it feeling a bit claustrophobic at that length, maybe have a look at the French vans Pilot and Rapido face to face seating feels very open even at 7.5m

Have a look at Carthago's offerings, both semi (front cab) and fully integrated (A-class). We have a Compactline 1-138 which is narrow and being only a few cm longer so more akin to a PVC for driving etc which was a major consideration for us when we changed from our PVC. We wanted twin singles but in the end we plumped for 2 doubles, one at the front and one at the rear so have one each and the extra space we have is lovely! :giggle:

Sometimes a PVC is a move up from a coachbuilt. Our Campscout Revolution is more of a pleasure to drive than a coachbuilt yet does everything Our large tag axle frankia did.

Same layout as our last two vans, last one was an Exsis A Class at 7.2m, current one is a Dynamic Line A Class at 7.5m. Huge garage on both.
If you only want two beds most A Class can be ordered without the front bed but very rare on the second hand market.

Despite initial impressions A Class vans are easier to drive, better visibility, flat sides making getting through tight gaps & reversing easier.

Our last 2 Hymers have been on the narrower 2.21m wide body which makes life a bit easier.
