Trying to find a successful way to mount a satnav in my 2006 on Ducato cab! I'm sure someone must have come up with a clever solution!

Depends which make of satnav. You can either glue or screw a flat metal base permanently to the top of the dash which is better than sticking the rubber sucker mount on the screen, or use one of those removeable beanbag type mounts which is what we use in both the PVC and car. The beanbag is secure enough not to fall off the dash even with a 7" screen satnav. (Well, ours are. From Amazon.)

I also use a beanbag type, it's brilliant, made by Garmin.
The mounting is in the center with 4 weighted pockets coming away from it.
It's very stable and doesn't move around and also doesn't have to be mounted on a flat surface.
Looks smart too.

I use one of those black flat round disks that are supplied with a Tomtom unit and stick it to the dashboard top. You can buy the separately. assuming you have a sucker type gismo that can fix it.

I use a round disc which goes under the map clip on dash ducato type and put the sucker under it too it doesn't vibrate and is easy to remove when closing the remiscreen blinds.

Bought one which I thought , this will be good .On my 2004 Ducato the cd slot is fairly recessed and the holder doesn't reach it:mad:.
It fits my taxi but you can't see the meter:mad::mad:

I just stick mine onto the right side of the windscreen with the supplied suction pad.

I know it's not supposed to be in the area swept by the wipers but, realistically, if its mounted at the bottom of the glass it's in an area which doesn't actually get used that much.
And, if plod were to get stroppy about it, I could always fit shorter wiper blades thus increasing the size of the unswept area.

I removed the map clip thingy, never used it anyway, that revealed a useful area, so fixed a Garmin holder permanently.

Doesn't interfere with visibility and is secure.

We stuck a sticky TomTom disc we already had to half a cheap plastic “clamshell “ type dvd case- like these - then catch the hinge part of the case under the clip on the Ducato clipboard. The fixing for the Garmin then attaches to the disc.

I use a strip of aluminium fastened under the map clip and slightly bent to the shape of the dash. I then velcro the mounting disk to the alloy. Everything is easily removed and does not ruin the dash.

The other issue with the SatNav sitting on the dash is the temperature, expecially when in Spain during the summer months. Has anyone thought of a cunning plan to take the heat off?
