We're looking for a MH with a highish french bed (but not too high so's we need a ladder to get into it) and a large external locker door so we can get a couple of folding ebikes under it from the outside. Also needs to be 6.5 metres or under. Any suggestions as to models? Looking for something around 3 to 5 years old.

Suggest looking at Benimar & Chausson models - our 2014 Chausson Best Of 04 has a french bed that you can raise & lower over the garage so we can fit 3 full size adults bikes & only 5.99m :)

Beware. Lots of good garages but often restricted payload on the rear axle so useless for carrying much.

Thanks Wombles but think you'll find the 04 has a transverse bed. We like the idea of a height adjustable bed as it means more headroom than a fixed transverse bed but it makes getting out in the middle of the night difficult for the "inside" person. We think a french bed will make life a bit easier.

It certainly does, but obviously not as easy as an island bed, (or two singles) which are becoming quite popular in MH designs now.

Good luck with the search. (y)

Cheers,

Jock.

We're considering twin singles but most are over 6.5 metres. Found one yesterday at 6.5 but it was new.

Try the Rollerteam Auto Roller 200 with the French bed, we had one and there was plenty of room underneath the bed for all tables chairs etc, the space could be reached from the inside or outside. I would add that the MH was excellent manufactured by Trigano who also make Chausson/etc, the length is 6.25 metres.
Etap

Thanks etap. We'll add that to our list. Can i ask was the external door level with the floor. Also we need it to be at least 16 inches high as a folded bike is 15.5 inches. Can you remember approx size?

I thought french bed was double with cut off corner:unsure: The bed in the 04 is transverse & agree that it could be a pain! There is always some compromise in under 6m...

Yep, ours is. Whilst the inner sleeper has to slide out of the bottom of the bed, at least they are not clambering over the other, on a visit to the loo. :(
Being the beer drinker, I'm on the outside....................and it's me that dutifully empties the cassette.

Cheers,

Jock. :)

Hi Stevec,
The outside horizontal flap is about 2ft6" wide and app. one and a half inches up from the floor, sorry can't remember height.

Just had a quick look at the Kreos (2015). Looks nice. Ticks all the boxes apart from length. From what I can see its 6.99 metres long. Half a meter too long. Not found any info on older ones. Oh and don't need the drop down bed as there's only the two of us.
